Exit Interviews Provide Valuable Insight

The BSA is now conducting online exit interviews with employees who decide to leave our organization. Exit interviews:

  • Accelerate participating managers’ understanding and experience of managing people and organizations.
  • Help to support local councils’ HR practices, including sourcing, recruiting, onboarding of new employees, and retention of existing employees.
  • Provide relevant and useful data directly into training needs analysis and training planning processes.

Exit interviews and a properly organized, positive exit process also greatly improve the chances of successfully obtaining and transferring useful knowledge, contacts, insights, tips, and experience from the departing employee to those who need it, especially successors and replacements.

Data collected from these interviews will be analyzed and shared quarterly with BSA executive management, regional directors, and the Scout executive to help the Boy Scouts of America maintain and further work toward an organizational culture that inspires, motivates, and encourages its employees to their best performance.
